Ocean Games USA Makes $7000 Donation to Johns Hopkins Studies

On Friday, October 20th, the Ocean Games USA Founder, Corey Davis, presented Johns Hopkins University with a check for $7000. This generous donation will assist in funding Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, as well as Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Studies. The recipient of the check, Lauren Malloy, represents Johns Hopkins University and is involved in the TBI studies taking place at Walter Reed, which aim to serve veterans with TBIs and depression.

Founder Corey Davis expressed his commitment to the mission of Ocean Games USA events, held annually in July in Ocean City, MD. He stated, "Our main goal is to raise money for programs that support individuals with Traumatic Brain Injuries. We believe in the power of open water swimming to challenge and inspire, while also making a positive impact on the lives of those affected by TBIs."

The Ocean Games USA events provide a unique platform for open water swimmers to test their limits, with challenging distances of 9 miles and 3 miles. Through these events, the organization aims to raise awareness and funds for crucial research and support programs. By making this significant donation to Johns Hopkins University, Ocean Games USA continues to uphold its mission of helping those with Traumatic Brain Injuries.

The check presentation to Lauren Malloy from Johns Hopkins University highlights the dedication and commitment of Ocean Games USA in supporting the research and studies related to TBIs. This collaboration between the organization and the university will contribute to advancements in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, benefiting not only veterans but also individuals across the nation facing similar challenges.

Swim Ocean City Donates Rotisserie Chickens to Diakonia

In January, Swim Ocean City’s founder, Corey Davis, donated rotisserie chickens to Diakonia, a local homeless shelter in West Ocean City. Since the debut of Ocean Games in 2013, we raised over $130,000 for Johns Hopkins Brain and Stroke Rehabilitation Program and local charities and families. It is because of all the support and participation in Ocean Games that allows us, year after year, to give back to our community. Thank you!!
